How to connect

How do I add Pantry Persona to Claude?

Open the Pantry Persona listing in Claude's connector directory, select Connect and approve the sign-in. Then switch it on in a conversation and ask. It takes about a minute in all.

Step 1 · Connect

The listing has its own Connect button. Sign in with the Google or email account you use on pantrypersona.com, then switch the connector on in the conversation where you want it.

  1. Open the Pantry Persona Listing

    Pantry Persona is in Claude's connector directory. The button below opens the listing.

    • Open the listing with the button above
    • Click "Connect" in the top right of the listing
    • Or find it manually: Settings → Connectors → Browse connectors, then search "Pantry Persona"

    Give the page a moment. The listing opens over the Claude app, so the app loads first.

  2. Authorize Your Account

    Connect your Pantry Persona account to Claude.

    • A sign-in window opens automatically
    • Sign in with Google or email, or create an account right there if you don't have one yet
    • You'll see what Pantry Persona can access. Click "Allow Access" to confirm
    • The window closes and you're back in Claude. All set!

    Prefer to add it by hand? Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste https://www.pantrypersona.com/mcp and leave the Advanced settings empty.

  3. Enable in a Conversation

    Toggle Pantry Persona on in your chat.

    • Start a new conversation
    • Click the "+" button near the chat input
    • Select "Connectors" from the menu
    • Toggle on Pantry Persona
    • Ask about your pantry, recipes, or meal plans

    You need to enable Pantry Persona per conversation. Once toggled on, Claude will use it automatically for the rest of that chat.

  4. Set Tool Access to Auto (Recommended)

    Ensure Claude uses Pantry Persona automatically without being asked.

    • Click the "+" button near the chat input
    • Hover over "Connectors"
    • Click "Tool access"
    • Select "Tools already loaded" (not "Load tools when needed")

    If set to "Load tools when needed," you'll have to tell Claude to use Pantry Persona each time. "Tools already loaded" lets Claude reach for your kitchen tools without being asked.

Start a new conversation and ask. If Claude doesn't reach for your pantry, open the + menu, choose Connectors and switch Pantry Persona on.

Before you connect

Is it safe, what does it cost, and what if it doesn't work?

Connecting costs nothing, and sign-in happens on Pantry Persona's own page, where you see what it can reach before you approve.

Is it safe?

  • You sign in on Pantry Persona's own page with OAuth, so Claude never gets your password.
  • The connector reaches your kitchen data in Pantry Persona and nothing else.
  • You see exactly what Pantry Persona can access before you select Allow Access.
  • To disconnect, revoke Claude's access from your Pantry Persona account settings.

What does it cost?

Free to connect, on any Claude plan.

A free Pantry Persona account covers pantry, recipes, meal plans and shopping lists. Nutrition and Kitchen Insights come with a subscription.

Something not working?

  • Connector shows but Claude doesn't use it. Open the + menu, choose Connectors and switch Pantry Persona on. Setting Tool access to “Tools already loaded” helps too.
  • The listing looks blank. Give it a few seconds. The listing opens over the Claude app, which loads first.
  • The sign-in window keeps coming back. Close it, select Connect on the listing again and sign in with the account you use on pantrypersona.com.

Claude + Pantry Persona: questions people ask

How do I add Pantry Persona to Claude?

Select Add to Claude to open the listing in Claude's connector directory, then select Connect. Sign in with the Google or email account you use on pantrypersona.com and approve. It takes about a minute.

Does it work on Claude's free plan?

Yes. Pantry Persona works on any Claude plan, including free, and connecting costs nothing.

What does Claude see when I sign in?

Not your password. You sign in on Pantry Persona's own page (OAuth), and Claude only gets permission to reach your kitchen. You can revoke it from your Pantry Persona account settings.

Do I have to switch it on in every conversation?

Yes, once per conversation: open the + menu, choose Connectors and switch Pantry Persona on. With Tool access set to “Tools already loaded”, Claude reaches for your kitchen without being asked.

What can Claude reach once it's connected?

The kitchen in your Pantry Persona account: pantry, recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, receipts, household profiles and collections. Nothing outside it.

Can I add it as a custom connector instead?

Yes. Open Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector, paste https://www.pantrypersona.com/mcp and leave the Advanced settings empty. It reaches the same Pantry Persona account.

Claude isn't using Pantry Persona. What should I check?
