3. Set authentication to OAuth and sign in to your Pantry Persona account
4. Type @Pantry Persona in any chat to start using it

Tell it about your kitchen. A few good starters:

• 'Add chicken, rice, and broccoli to my pantry'
• 'Save this recipe: [paste a URL]'
• 'Create a profile for me, I'm vegetarian'
• 'Add milk and eggs to my shopping list'

Once you've added a few things, try 'What can I make with what I have?' and see what comes back.

Will this work for picky eaters?

Yes. Create a profile for each person with their allergies, preferences, and dislikes. After that, every suggestion accounts for them without you having to repeat yourself.

Do I have to enter everything in my pantry first?

Accepted Answer

No. Start with whatever you buy next. After a grocery trip, tell your AI what you got. The pantry fills in over time. There's no "catalog your entire kitchen" step.

Most of those apps ask you to change your routine. Pantry Persona lives inside ChatGPT or Claude, so there's nothing new to open or remember to check. You talk to your AI like you already do.

How is my data protected?

Encrypted in transit and at rest. Not sold to advertisers, not used to train AI models. We make money from subscriptions.

Does my AI provider see my data?

Accepted Answer

Your AI provider processes the chat messages, but your saved data (pantry, recipes, profiles, purchase history) lives in our database, not theirs. Switch from ChatGPT to Claude or vice versa and everything comes with you.

Yes. Export to CSV from your dashboard anytime. If you want to delete your account, we remove all your data on request.

• Paste a recipe URL and Pantry Persona extracts the ingredients, steps, and timing

Saved recipes are searchable and you can build meal plans around them.

What are recipe collections?

A way to group recipes however makes sense for your household. You can create them yourself, or they get created from conversation.

Say 'this is a good weeknight recipe' and it goes into a Weeknight Dinners collection. Say 'show me dad's recipes' and you get that collection back. They show up as tabs in the recipe view.

What happens when I log a recipe as cooked?

The ingredients come out of your pantry so it stays up to date. Your cooking history gets saved, and you'll be asked about leftovers so those get tracked too.

How do I keep my pantry accurate without it being tedious?

Accepted Answer

Don't try to track everything. Focus on proteins and produce since those expire and drive what you cook. Set staple items like olive oil or rice so they show up on your shopping list automatically when you run out.

After grocery trips, tell your AI what you bought. Pantry Persona also flags items that are about to expire so you can use them first.

Can Pantry Persona help with food waste?

Accepted Answer

It knows what's about to expire and works those ingredients into meal suggestions first. If you have chicken expiring tomorrow and spinach on its last day, it'll suggest something that uses both.

You can also just ask: 'What's expiring soon?' or 'Plan meals around what needs to be used up.'
