What you'll need
- ✓Any ChatGPT plan works, including free (Developer Mode required)

Open Apps Settings
Open ChatGPT settings and go to the Apps section.
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner
- Select "Settings"
- Open "Apps" in the settings sidebar

Turn On Developer Mode
Developer Mode lets you add a custom connector.
- At the bottom of the Apps page, click "Advanced settings"
- Toggle on "Developer mode"
Tip: Developer Mode is needed while we await approval in the ChatGPT App Directory. Once approved, this step goes away.

Create the Pantry Persona App
Add a new app for Pantry Persona.
- At the top of Advanced settings, click "Create app"
- Enter a name: "Pantry Persona"
- Under "Connection," keep "Server URL" selected, not "Tunnel"
- Paste the MCP Server URL below into the Server URL field
- Select "OAuth" as the authentication method
- Check "I understand and want to continue," then click "Create"
MCP Server URL:
Tip: Leave the Connection toggle on "Server URL." "Tunnel" is for local dev servers and won't reach Pantry Persona.

Authorize Your Account
Sign in to connect your Pantry Persona account.
- Click the "Connect" button. A new window opens
- Sign in with Google or email (same as your Pantry Persona account)
- You'll see what Pantry Persona can access. Click "Allow Access" to confirm
- The window closes and you're back in ChatGPT. All set!
